A Chicago native turned Houstonian, Matilda Gilbert has over 20 years of experience in early education and childhood development. Though she retired from the classroom in 2016, she continues to teach as a reading and writing interventionist at a nearby elementary school. Matilda is dedicated to supporting new teachers and fostering a love for learning in her students.
She is now pursuing her own musical endeavor in the name of education, alongside her daughter, highly renowned recording artist Cammie Beverly. Designed to help and appeal to children and adults alike, the discography of "Learn About It, Sing About It" includes a sophisticated and entertaining look into reading and writing objectives. Matilda's innovative approach combines her extensive educational expertise with the power of music to create engaging and effective learning experiences for all students.
In addition to her musical projects, Matilda is available for author visits and educational consultation. Whether you need assistance with classroom management, curriculum development, or specific instructional strategies, she offers both in-person and virtual visits to provide guidance and support.
